The Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abdulrrahaman, says strong indications are that the year 2024 promises tobe a good one for the Judiciary in the State.
She announced that already, the Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) an international NGO intervening on ” Court Administration and Case Management Project (CACM) and Reforming Pre-trial Detention in Nigeria (RPDN11) has come to support the committee in the state.
She said while declaring open the quarterly meeting of the Adamawa State Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJMC) on Thursday, that the committee had been docile for a while due to some financial constraints but she will endeavour to utilise the little resources available to forge ahead.
The Chief Judge, who is also the Chairman of the committee, noted with delight the turn out of key players in the Justice Sector, indicating their unwavering commitment to meet and take concrete steps towards promoting a more efficient and coordinated services to Adamwa State citizens.
She lauded the intervention of PPDC in Nasarawa, Plateau, Kaduna States and the FCT, expressing optimism that same will be replicated in Adamawa State given the renewed partnership extended to the State to foster access to justice to every citizen.
The CJ thanked the PPDC for supporting the meeting, assuring that all resolutions adopted will be implemented to the later for the benefit of the state.
In her remark on behalf of the CEO PPDC, the State Cordinator of the “Court Administration and Case Management Project (CACM), Barrister Fatimatu Raji explained that the partnership with the Adamawa State Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee (ACJMC) was to improve access to dispensation of justice for Nigerians, improve Citizen’s interaction with Governement/law using Transparency tools and enhance States’ capacities to effectively investigate and prosecute cases.
