Adamawa Govt To Take Over Undeveloped Landed Properties In Yola

In furtherance to meeting his Urban renewal and modernization, Governor Ahmadu UmaruFintiri has announced that the Adamawa State Government will revoke ownership of undeveloped plots and abandoned landed properties that has remained undeveloped since the days of the defunct Gongola State.

Fintiri however gives owners of such landed properties upto 30 days beginning from 1st October,2024 to commence developing activities on such lands or risk it acquisition for public interest.

The Governor made this declaration during the inauguration of Satus Hotel in Karewa, Yola North Local Government Area.

While inaugurating the hotel, Governor Fintiri emphasized that his administration has made significant strides in improving the state’s security infrastructure. These improvements, he noted, have driven socio-economic growth, creating an enabling environment for the hospitality industry to flourish.

The Governor commended the proprietor of Satus Hotel, late Jibrin Abdulaziz Satumari, for his unwavering commitment to societal growth and dedication to inspiring younger generations to strive for success.

“Adamawa State is now the epicenter of development and a tourists destination with condusive atmosphere for investors in the Northeastern region,”

He called on property owners in the state capital who have failed to develop their lands to do so, stressing that their ownership will be revoked, and they will be compensated with lands in more distant areas. This, he explained, would allow those willing to develop the state to contribute to its progress.

Recall that the governor has previously revoked a large expanse of land around PZ area belonging to Hon.Babazango for citing a Model Secondary School for Yola North Local Governement Area which has been a subject of litigation.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of Satus Hotel, Abdulrahman Satumari, commended Governor Fintiri for spearheading human and infrastructural development in Adamawa, positioning the state as a leader among developed states in Nigeria. Satumari also announced that the hotel would offer a 20% discount on services provided to the state government.
