The just concluded Local Governement Elections on Saturday 13th July, 2024 in Adamawa State was indeed peaceful.
Though the major opposition political parties boycotted the elections, the ruling PDP has swept all the 21 Chairmanship with Councillorship seats in almost all the 226 Wards.
However, results of Councillorship election from Demsa Ward of Demsa Local Governement indicates an against the tide result where NNPP candidate, the party with the only Governor in Kano State won the Councillorship election landslide against the PDP candidate.
The final Councillorship Result as announced amidst tight security in Demsa Local Governement indicates that the
NNPP polled 4039 votes against the PDP’s 3119 votes.
Other 9 Wards of Demsa Local Governement were won by the PDP.
It was not however clear if such incidence were occasioned in other local government areas.
