Adamawa State Receives Award for Best Implementing State in ACreSAL Programme.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has received an award for best Implementing State for ACreSAL Programme in 19 Northern States.

The Project Cordinator of ACRESAL in Adamawa state who was accompanied by the Adamawa State Commissioners of Environment and Agriculture as well as Special Adviser to the Governor on Development Partners presented the Award to the Governor.

The World Bank and the National coordinating office of the Project in Abuja in her rating found Adamawa and Gombe States the best in terms of performance.

The ACRESAL project is presently the biggest intervention programme by the World Bank in climate and environmental programmes globally.

Adamawa state was adjudged first in the following criteria; Innovation, Community driven approach, number of beneficiaries affected by the project, implementation progress, hectares of land recovered through afforestation & support for identified beneficiaries.

The Governor enjoined them to maintain the tempo as nothing less than excellence is expected from citizens of Adamawa in all spheres of life!
