Bad Leadership Responsible for Citizens'Agitation, Violent Reactions--Arch Bishop Musa Filibus

The Arch Bishop, Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN and the immediate Past President of World Lutheran Federation,Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus has blamed negative reactions of citizens on bad Leadership offered by accidental leaders.

The Spiritual Head of Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria made the remarks at the Sideline of Annual Convention of Yola Diocess held at Saint Monica’s Lutheran Cathedral, Jimeta-Yola,on Saturday,27th of January,2024.

The Bishop maintained that leaders have the moral obligation to secure and protect the lives, right and integrity of the citizens as respect and good character are reciprocal.

According to him “as long as leaders fail to live up to their responsibilities, they should expect mix reaction characterized by all sort of utterances and agitations trailing their leadership.”

Arch Bishop Filibus therefore, tasked both secular and spiritual leaders at all levels to work towards unity of their people especially and promoting peace in the land.

The clergy particular encouraged Church leaders to exhibit Christ-like leadership and be committed to the service of God more than ever before and unite against all odds.
He advised those within the faith who are opportuned to be in the position of leadership by either means elected, appointive or through the ranks to be conscious of their faith and make difference in their areas of leadership.

In his exhortation at the convention, Reverend Iliya Yohanna who dwelt on the topic “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you” urged the spiritual leaders to be peaceful in conduct and character and preach love among believers as taught in the scripture.

Various Speakers who spoke on different topics are Reverend Innocent Anthony, Dean Reverend Kemuel Arba’in and Mrs Bwalami Abraham Yiri among others.
The convention is part of the respective diocessan leadership activities preceeding the Annual National Convention scheduled for February,2024 at Demsa, Adamawa State.
Highlights of the convention were morning devotions, offering competitions among divisions of the diocese and bazaar as well as cultural dances.
