Benue Council Chairman In Police Net Over Alleged Murder

The Police in Benue State, have arrested two suspects involved in an alleged assassination plot
of murdering the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Aondona Dajoh.

The arrested suspects included a Chairman of one of the Local Government Areas of Benue State.

According to Force PRO, ACP, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Preliminary investigations revealed that the council Chairman allegedly contracted a militia with the sinister intention of killing the Speaker.

Upon receiving credible intelligence regarding the planned assassination, operatives of the Force Intelligence Department – Intelligence Response Team swiftly swung into action.

The report says both suspects are currently in police custody and are actively cooperating with investigators.

Mr Adejobi said the Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in its commitment to upholding the safety and security of citizens and public officials.
