Boko Haram Brutally Executes 11 Residents in Damboa, Borno State

It was a moment of grief for the residents of Bale, a remote village in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, as Boko Haram insurgents who operate freely in the area killed 11 charcoal dealers by execution.

Emergency Digest, an online publication in Borno, reports that the incident occurred on Monday, November 27, 2023, and the charred remains of the victims were recovered at the scene around 5 p.m.

According to reports, 11 bodies were recovered from the scene of the execution, and most of the bodies were dismembered and cut into pieces. We have buried them this evening according to Islamic rites

The source further disclosed that the loggers were working at their charcoal site when they were suddenly rounded up by the terrorist group and killed.

A survivor narrates, “They came on camels and surrounded us; they were like 15. I ran very fast, and they ran after me, and fortunately for me, I escaped having been conversant and familiar with the terrain.”

He added, “Later, we mobilised and went to the scene. Behold, six bodies were lit on the spot, while five other bodies were recovered the following morning.

So far, the soldiers and vigilantes are currently in pursuit of the insurgents, while more security presence has been beefed up within the area,” he said.
Recently, terrorist activities have been on the increase, even as security operatives have maintained tremendous success in clearing the remnants of the insurgents.
