Demsa Council Chairman Distributes 1000 Bags of Fertilizer To Farmers

The Executive Chairman of Demsa Local Governement Council, Akham Jalo has warned beneficiaries of the Free fertilizers programme of the government against disposing off the products to business and middlemen.
The Chairman gave the warning during the flag off of the distribution of fertilizers for 2024 farming season held at the local government Secretariat in Demsa.
According to the Chairman, the free fertilizer distribution was part of the food sufficiency programme of His Excellency, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in Adamawa State.
He said, in the first phase of the programme, the local government will distribute over 1000 bags to the 10 Wards of the Demsa Local Governement for onward distribution to Farmers at the grassroot and appealed to the beneficiaries to effectively utilize the fertilizer for improved yields this harvest season.
He assured that the state government will provide more agricultural inputs to both wet and dry season farmers to end the food deficit currently being experienced in the state and the country at large.
He appealed to the youths to take advantage of the Fintiri youth intervention programmes in agriculture to engage in farming activities.
