Fintiri’s Son, Deputy Governor Farauta,2 Journalists,Others Conferred With Batta Traditional Titles.
Recognising the role of Traditional Rulers in sustaining the security architecture of his governement in the war against insecurity, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has tasked Royal Fathers to raise the bar of peace building and promote harmonious relationship among their subjects.
Speaking during the Conferment of Traditional Chieftaincy Titles on some illustrous sons, daughters and friends of the Batta Kingdom during which the son of the Governor, Hamidu Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was crowned the new “Kurmo Batta” by His Royal Majesty the Hama Batta,Homun Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke at his Palace in Demsa Local Governement Area, the Governor noted with delight the role played by traditional institutions in fighting insecurity in the state since he assumed office as Governor in 2019.
Represented by his Deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, the Governor stressed the need for closer ties between the traditional institution and the governement aimed at improving Community policing to compliment th role of security operatives working within their respective kingdoms.
He assured that his administration will continue to provide the enabling environment for peace development through sustained economic and infrastructural initiatives, urging stakeholders to provide necessary support towards achieving this.
While commending the Hama Batta for his immense fatherly advice and guidance to his administration, the Governor lauded the wisdom he deployed in expanding his honourary advisers beyond his kingdom, describing it as heartwarming and strategic in building bridges across neighbourhood which will strengthen harmony, improve synergy and foster development in the state.
Fintiri said, for the kingdom to extend the gesture of considering the first family,his son,Hamid Ahmadu Fintiri as worthy of being honoured with the chieftaincy title, also promised to support and assist his son in playing his role in the traditional council.
He congratulated the new title holders stressing that their selection was based on merit and urged them to take advantage of the opportunity to impact on the kingdom.
The Paramount Ruler of Batta Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Homun Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke while appreciating Governor Fintiri for honouring his invitation assured the governor of the support of his kingdom to the laudable programmes and achievements of his administration.
Making the list of the new title holders from the kingdom are two prominent Journalists, Comrades Ladi Bala of NTA and National President, NAWOJ as well as Princes Nyisom Tafisu Swade,an Assistant Editor-In-chief News Agency of Nigeria as NZOBYALATA Batta and NZUMTO Batta respectively.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, the Nzomuro Bwatiye Chief Joel Hammanjoda Madaki said, they have accepted the various titles graciously bestowed upon them and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them.
They also promised to use their wealth of experience to contribute to the development of the kingdom.
Those conferred with the traditional chieftaincy titles are the Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta as RUTU Batta,
Chief Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno as DWA-MBWARA Batta,
Mr. Kennedy Benue Dauda Mni as DITTO Batta,
Prof.Cyril M.Ubale as SABAKTO Batta.
Others are Chief Hon. Adamu Atiku as FYEMI Batta,
Chief Dr. Aminu Aliyu Ismaila as MADAKI Batta,
Mrs. Marlyn Barkatapwa Babayi as NZUBWARATO Batta,Pwadeh Rogers Teneke as KUTA Batta,
The list also has Niwesa George Kushi as PIPIYO Batta,Chief Barnabas Galadima Pata as NGRA Batta,Mr. Linus Matashi Gubbi as KUFO Batta as well as Mr. Lawrence Ornan Nyaru as KWA-KADA Batta,Mr. Alfred Theophilus Madakapwa as BONGHO Batta and Dr. Pwa’ashino David Kalvin as RAGO Batta among others.
