As Tenure of Councils draw to an end in early April, Hong Local Government Legislative Council,has in a unanimous resolution passed a “vote of confidence” on the Council Chairman, Hon. Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, for his accomplishments during his two-year tenure.
The commendation which came with an endorsement for a 2nd Term of 2 years followed a motion raised by the Majority Leader of the Council Hon. Saidu Bamaiyi representing Shangui Ward, during the last legislative session at the secretariat.
The motion which was seconded by Clifford Ibrahim, the Councilor representing Banshika Ward, however received a unanimous adoption and subsequent approval by all the members of the legislative Council.
The lawmakers collectively commended Wa’aganda for carrying them along in steering the affairs of Hong Local Government in the right direction and in the path of recovery.
The initiator of the motion highlighted that Wa’aganda’s administration had kept to its promises in terms of policies, fairness, justice, transparency, and inclusiveness, and therefore deserving of recognition and encouragement.
The Leader of the legislative Council, Falnyi Washa,who presided over the session, said, the vote-of-confidence was a gesture aimed to motivate the chairman to continue advancing on the path of progress and commended his exemplary leadership style thus far.
The Councillors shortly after the sitting visited the Council Chairman and presented him with an award of excellence and a formal letter affirming the vote of confidence.
The chairman in his response expressed gratitude to the Councillors for the confidence reposed in him and attributed success to God Almighty and support of the members of legislative Council and appealed to them to maintain the tempo.
He assured them of continued harmonious relationship in their future political endeavors and urge them to continue aspiring for more and higher political offices ahead.
Wa’aganda also extended appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his unwavering support. Furthermore, he conveyed his appreciation to the political leaders of Hong LGA, stakeholders, and the community at large.
