The people of Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State has commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for yet another impacting project in the area.
Apart from the so many road projects within the Michika township and improved infrastructural development, Governor Fintiri also embarked on the construction of Vi road which is a major link to over 70% rural communities of Michika Local Government.
Emmanuel Philip Tumba,a Community leader in area said the “the impact of the ongoing construction of Vi road in Michika Local Government cannot be overstated. The transformation of this rural road has brought about monumental changes and has significantly improved the lives of the people in our community.”
According to the community leader,Governor Fintiri after awarding the road contract had ensured constant supervision and timely release of funds to the contractors which witnessed speedy and quality construction work on the road.
Before the construction, the journey from Michika to Vi was a challenging 45-minute drive due to the deplorable nature of the road and that made transportation difficult and often dangerous for the residents in the area.
However, with the ongoing construction and near completion, the travel time has now been drastically reduced to a smooth and efficient 20-minute drive instead of the more than 2 hours journey before now.
This has not only mad transportation of goods and farm produce easier but also opened up new opportunities for economic development and social interaction within our community.
The completion of this road will undoubtedly lead to improved access for emergency services, provide better market access for local farmers, and promote tourism in the region.
Emmanuel Philip stated “Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri , we extend our gratitude to you for recognizing the importance of rural road infrastructure and for investing in the construction of Vi-Road.” The impact of this project is already being felt across our community, and we are optimistic that it will continue to foster growth and development in our region”
We look forward to the completion of this vital project and the positive changes it will bring to the lives of the people in Michika and Vi. Thank you for your continued commitment to the development of our rural areas Tumba added.
