National Minimum Wage; Fintiri Pays 70,000 Minimum Effective August 2024

Fintiri Swears in Newly Elected Council Chairmen Monday 16th.

Workers in Adamawa State will start enjoying the National Minimum Wage effective from August 2024.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has directed that August 2024 Salary be computed with the approved National Minimum Wage .

Fintiri’s approval for payment of the new minimum wage is against some governor’s earlier position that states might not afford to pay the approved wage.
If implemented,Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri would be the first to effect the payment of the minimum wage.
Fintiri might also be ahead of the Federal Governement in implementing the national pay package.

Reacting to the development, the State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress,Comrade Emmanuel Fashe said,His Excellency,Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has proved to be Labour friendly Governor, having the interest and welfare of the state civil servants at heart.
He commended the governor for opening the floor for others to emulate.

The approval followed a meeting between the Governor and the Organized Labour Unions on the 19th of August,2024.
